Why not highlight what she brought to the battles? The memes and negativity—why so much hate? I’ve been following all the chatter about Raygun, and it’s time to speak up. Breaking has always been about freedom of expression, yet we’re seeing mockery instead of respect for someone who’s just dancing her way. Whether she should have been in the Olympics or not isn’t the point—this is a moment for us to reflect on how we treat each other in this community.
Breaking has provided a safe space for so many. Why are we allowing it to become something different? Bravo to B-Girl Raygun for staying true to herself.
