Bgirl Emma is from Surrey and currently resides in Vancouver, Canada. Bgirl Emma began her teaching journey during her grade 9 year at Panorama Ridge School, where she coached a break dance team that has consistently achieved first place in competitions throughout her four-year tenure.
Moreover, she has been instrumental in training and fostering Surrey’s first well-known bgirl team, breaking down barriers in a typically male-dominated domain. She firmly believes that gender should not be a determining factor when it comes to learning break dance and is resolute in inspiring girls to pursue their passion in this art form.
Currently, Emma imparts her knowledge at “Artistic Edge Dance Academy” and “The Happening Dance Company,” showcasing her commitment to shaping the future of dance education. Her reach extends to various institutions, including the “Dance Barn” in Langley for young kids aged 7-12 and the “Vancouver Dance Academy” in Richmond. Additionally, she has been involved in running dance summer camps for the City of Surrey, where she introduces children to the foundational steps of break dance.
Looking ahead, Bgirl Emma’s ultimate ambition is to continue dancing as long as she can, dedicating herself to teaching and inspiring others. She plans to venture into international travel and competitions to further enrich her dance experiences and growth.
