Hailing from Minsk, Belarus, Bgirl Kotya’s journey into dance began with her athletic nature as a teenager. At the age of 12, she was captivated by the boys at school showcasing their breaking moves, and she knew she wanted to be a dancer too, aspiring to look as cool as they did. With dedication and training, she soon fell in love with the vibrant hip-hop culture.
Bgirl Kotya’s breaking style is characterized by her unique character, and she excels in blow-ups, freezes, power moves, and footwork. Battling holds a special place in her heart as it allows her to meet new people, travel, and impress judges. Above all, she relishes challenging B-Boys, especially when they don’t expect to be contested by a B-Girl. Her biggest challenge has been breaking the stereotype that B-Boys are inherently stronger than B-Girls.
Currently training at the DaBrawo school in Minsk, Bgirl Kotya aspires to dance for Red Bull and the Belarusian Break Dance Federation. In 2020, despite a painful knee injury that limited her movements, she impressively made it to the Top 16 in her first-ever Red Bull E-Battle.
