Bgirl Shortbread is a well-known breaking athlete and professional dancer from Scotland who now lives in London. She originally loved playing soccer, but as a teenager, she switched to dance after getting inspired by the movie “You Got Served” and watching international breakdancers at a local arts center in Stirling.

She discovered Breaking around 16 years ago and fell in love with hip-hop culture. At first, she didn’t plan to make a living from it; she just wanted to dance because it was her passion and began with contemporary dance to better understand her body.

She enjoys various dance styles like hip hop, locking, house, and popping, but breaking is her favorite and holds a special place in her heart. She also runs her own dance company, Houston Dance Collective, which focuses on hip-hop and queer storytelling. She is also part of the Paris Olympic Qualifiers 2024, with a 66th ranking and 500 breaking points.
