Bboy Kareem was born in Richmond but raised in Sacramento, California. He has been breaking since the age of 12. Apart from breaking, he also graduated with a degree in Physical Therapy in December 2014. He took on the role of breaking choreographer for Usher’s Las Vegas residency show. In addition, he was honoured with the 2021 Mental Health Advocate of the Year award. Notably, He has also showcased his talents as a performer with Cirque Du Soleil for a span of four years. He has been in Monster Bboys since 2016.
Bboy Kareem has spent the last 12 years defying labels. “My style isn’t a style,” he says. “It’s a feeling that I have when I dance. If I’m feeling powerful, then I have a powerful style; if I’m feeling funky, then I have a funky style.” This sense of spontaneity separates Kareem from those opponents who place technique before passion—and it helps him stay poised when facing tough competition.
Bboy Kareem has been dancing for 22 years and is well known for his dynamic style and for creating power moves that have become a foundation for the breaking community. He has battled in the most prestigious competitions in the world, visiting 65 countries and winning a majority of the largest global competitions. Kareem’s goal is to continue to show the world his expanding talent and growth as a professional B-boy.
