Bboy Storm Biography, Life Story, Breaking Journey, and Facts:

Bboy Storm

Bboy Storm was born in Eutin and currently lives in Berlin, Germany. He started breaking at the age of 14. At a party in New York in 1991, after he had used his powerful Flare-Windmill-Swipe combination to knock a vogue dancer who hadn’t maintained the required distance to the ground, the attendees exclaimed, “It was like a storm,” shaking their heads in bewilderment. Niels Robitzky, formerly known as Swipemaster, acquired the moniker “Storm” in this manner.

Bboy Storm started his first band, “Breakrevolution,” with a few classmates, but it disbanded after only five months. They eagerly anticipated new ideas and knowledge that films like “Beatstreet” or “Body Rock” would provide by being finally released in theatres. Every article and documentary film had value. Sometimes his mother would wake him up in the middle of the night because a Hip Hop programme was on. In order to keep his head above water during the end of the 1980s, he primarily made money by packing furniture, helping people move, working in the Hamburg port, and waiting tables at fairs. Every penny was kept. At the time, everything he owned had either been given to him, purchased on a special offer, or, if no other option was available, stolen.

Gabin from Aktuel Force was one of the many individuals who unexpectedly influenced Storm and played a significant role in his development. The Parisian dancer made a One-Hand 1990 following a downrock combo and stopped on one hand and one elbow in the hollowback freeze during a duel in Antwerp. The winner of that conflict was Gabin. Storm’s mental switch was flipped that evening. From that point on, no one could stop him. The minimal amount of training per day was 3 hours. It was impossible to think of anything besides moves, steps, combinations, and freezes. They were dancing around with his group and other dancers, disregarding what onlookers thought of them.

He travelled to New York by plane for the first time in May 1991, together with 4 friends. He met Kwikstep there, who at the time was the last remaining dancer in the entire city, among other people. Bboy Storm went them to his buddies in Brooklyn and Coney Island to show them what was happening in Europe in terms of B-Boying because he wanted to revive the culture in New York.

Injury:

The pivotal year was 1995. Bboy Storm developed TB in addition to having a slipped disc. He had to hold his head partially in his palm in order to rise off the bed. He had been dancing through agony for months, ready to recover. But eventually, everything stopped working. His constant companions were medication and excruciating agony in his feet, shoulders, and hip joints. Bboy Storm took care of the popping and locking. Although the transition was difficult, it did not guarantee that he would cease completely breaking. No, it was merely diminished. He understood that he needed to move slowly if he wanted to still be able to dance in 10 or 20 years; otherwise, he would become wheelchair-bound.

Current Life:

He currently resides in Berlin, his chosen hometown, with his family, but while he is at home, he is likely anywhere in the world. His name can no longer be removed from the records of Hip Hop history. His life today includes jams, dance halls, judging matches, theatre productions, shows, airports, far-off countries, and a large number of admirers, fans, and grateful people from all over the world. Bboy Storm loves it and will always work to promote this culture, this dance, and its acceptance in society.
