Bgirl Keisha grew up in Ocean View, which is plagued by drugs and enormity. She chose dance as her profession to make a good impact in the community. Her journey began when she stumbled on her love for dance at the age of eight. She originally started off her career as a model, but her interest in break dancing grew when she had the chance to take part in a modeling competition in America, where she met other breakdancers and loved the dance genre. With the support of her mother, she started finding breakdancing classes in her section, and that decided the beginning of her journey as a “breaker”.
Her hard work and potential paid off when she won the “Red Bull BC One” breaking competition in South Africa, making her the youngest girl ever to win this reputable championship. This win earned her a spot to represent South Africa alongside Bboy Toufeeq at the world finals in Paris, scheduled for October 21. She had practiced extensively, including new power moves and concentrating on controlling her breathing, which played an essential role in her win.
She wants to show the world just how skilled they are in South Africa and that they have the potential to compete on international stages. Her aim is to become an executive dancer, expand her dance genres, and teach dance to youth. She will represent South Africa in the Last Chance Cypher of the Red Bull BC One World Final in October 2023 in Paris.
