Bboy Luan San is originally from Bauru but resides in Sao Paulo, Brazil. At the age of 12, B-Boy Luan began his journey in the B-Boy scene, driven by the influence of his friends. He encountered B-Boys for the first time while returning from his Capoeira classes in 2003, and from that moment on, his passion for dancing never wavered.

Now 32 years old, he has earned the opportunity to be one of the 16 B-Boys who will compete in the Latin American Qualifier of the Red Bull BC One event in Monterrey, Mexico. Bboy Luan San’s dance style is a reflection of his own life experiences, embodying a ghetto and gangsta aesthetic intertwined with humility, respect, and emotion. Bboy Luan San draws his inspiration primarily from his authentic life and those who are closest to him, the streets, his friends, his crew, and his family.

Anticipating battles always carries a mixture of excitement and nerves, a sentiment universal among B-Boys. Bboy Luan San acknowledges this, emphasizing the importance of remaining true to oneself during the competition. When the music starts, he lets the rhythm guide his distinctive moves, which encompass freezes, tricks, powermoves, musicality, and jumps. He strongly believes that a complete B-Boy should master all these facets.

Regarding his connection to Hip Hop culture, Bboy Luan San holds a deep appreciation for the work of DJs as it closely ties into dance. When it comes to musical preferences, he favors rap for its portrayal of real life and underground essence. His primary pillars of support include his mother, brothers, and his friends from the Funk Fockers Crew.

While many members of his family may not fully endorse his path, believing he should secure a conventional job, they also recognize Bboy Luan San’s unwavering commitment to dance. Looking ahead a decade, he envisions himself passing on his accumulated knowledge to the next generation. He is also preparing to appear in the Paris Olympics 2024 and currently ranks at 58th spot with 560 points.
