Bboy Morris Biography, Life Story, Breaking Journey, and Facts:
Bboy Morris was born in Riverside, California. He went to Luther Burbank High School in Sacramento, California. Morris discovered breakdancing while in high school in Sacramento, CA. After watching Battle of the Year: 1998 on VHS, he was inspired by the artistry and athleticism of the battles and started practicing daily in his parents’ garage.
As a child, Morris was often placed in the spotlight during family gatherings, where he would dance and entertain relatives and friends. He grew up surrounded by music and dancing, and it became a central part of his life. While he initially danced to soulful music, his curiosity was piqued when he was introduced to Hip Hop music at the tender age of 5, sparking a desire to delve deeper into this new genre.
In 2000, Bboy Morris joined a local dance crew called “Orbit Documents” and began winning competitions in the area. Three years later, he became a member of “Flexible Flav” and achieved his first solo victory at Octagon: San Jose Edition. He also joined the NBA’s Sacramento Kings Breakers team.
In 2005, Flexible Flav traveled to Canada and secured their first international title at Just for Laughs. They continued their winning streak in Canada, Portugal (Euro Battle), and France (La Original Festival). Back home in the United States, they also emerged victorious at Floor Wars LA, Cell Space, and Unbreakable. Bboy Morris gained visibility through television and movie appearances, including Step Up 3D, Teen Choice Awards, Disney’s Shake it Up, NBC’s America’s Got Talent, Screen Gems’ Battle of the Year, Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance, and more. He was recognized as Bboyrankingz’s “Bboy of the Year” and consistently achieved success both regionally and internationally.
After a brief hiatus, Bboy Morris was invited to join the “Rock Force Crew” in 2014 and won 13 titles with them. He performed with the “Academy of Villains” at Vibe OC and participated in the halftime show at the NCAA Finals alongside David Garibaldi. He returned to Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance and progressed to the Choreography rounds based on viewer votes.
World of Dance extended an invitation to Morris to create the All-Style Competition called Headbangerz Brawl, which toured 8 cities across the United States. The tour provided a platform for dancers of all genres to gain mainstream recognition through competition. With the Rock Force Crew, Bboy Morris won the R16 North American Qualifier and reached the finals in Korea. Despite touring, mentoring, and fulfilling his sponsorship obligations, Morris managed to win a total of 9 titles.
In 2016, Bboy Morris continued his touring with World of Dance, winning events in Japan, Poland, and Canada, as well as the Massive Monkees Day in Seattle. He maintained sponsorship with the Illest brand and dedicated his time to teaching the foundations of breaking to younger dancers in local Sacramento studios.
To date, Bboy Morris holds more titles and competition victories than any other B-boy or B-girl within the breaking genre. While he still competes locally, regionally, and internationally, his focus has shifted towards raising awareness of breaking within mainstream circles. He regularly mentors aspiring dancers to help them improve and compete at a higher level.
Currently, Bboy Morris serves as one of the Stage Managers for Game Entertainment at the Sacramento Kings and remains a member of their Breakers team. The Headbangerz Brawl continues to visit new cities across the United States, and Morris remains an active member of both the Rock Force Crew and the Academy of Villains. Despite his achievements, Morris remains humble, regularly visiting his parents and practicing in their garage. He is also prepping to appear in Paris Olympics 2024 and currently ranks at 29th spot with 800 points.
