Bboy ROXRITE Biography, Life Story, Breaking Journey, and Facts:

Bboy RoxRite was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and raised in Windsor, California. He moved to California from Mexico with his family at the age of six and graduated from highschool in 2000. He worked as a pizza delivery service and a seller for Footlocker and used to eat a lot of meat and pasta. He changed his diet at the age of 26 towards a more healthy one.

Bboy RoxRite has been interested in sports since younger days and used to watch American Football and basketball. His brother was a professional cross-country-track-runner and He had a dream of becoming a football player. He was introduced to breaking at the age of 12 and learned breaking by watching Beat Street. He trained for a year before finding his first mentor B-Boy Ground Level. Ground Level taught him about having a style. RoxRite also had B-Boy Zulu Gremlin as his mentor.

He got his name ‘RoxRite’ due to his b-boying style which refers to how he always ‘rocked right’. He is one of the three b-boys from the USA to have won the Red Bull BC One title. He appeared in a documentary about B-Boying ‘Turn it Loose” in 2010. Several judges have regarded him as well-rounded and complex in moves. Bboy RoxRite appeared in two seasons of ‘Break’n Reality’ in 2012 and 2014. He calls his approach to dance as being “straight-up B-Boy”. He committed himself to make money from breaking in 2008 and is known for winning various bboy competitions internationally and has won around 100 titles.

RoxRite is interested in writing a book on his career and wants to create a platform to support children in the education of dance. In 2013, he became a member of the selection committee for the Bboy Scholarship Fund. In 2015, he along with Lilou co-directed the online series ‘Crew Code’. He has various favorite countries to judge in i.e South Africa, Japan, Colombia, and Australia (source: redbull.com). He is known for his multiple signature moves including one handed 6 step, mountain halo, cork step, and freeze frame combinations. He believes the hardest part in judging is to sit and judge 1000 people in a day. Bboy RoxRite has a motto “Skills talk, no hype needed”. He is also skilled in photography and videography.

Practice Drill:

He starts with a warm up which involves 15 minutes of top rocking and 10 minutes of stretching and uses a black roller to roll his back, shoulders, and legs. He does one hour of practicing and runs 1600 meters. He creates a playlist of 45 minutes and does top rock for 45 minutes with little breaks in between. He does interval training of 45 minutes i.e 10 minutes for medium pace, 10 minutes for faster pace, and then slowing it down till the heart rate drops and then doing it again for 45 minutes.
