Bboy Neguin Biography, Life Story, Breaking Journey, and Facts:

Bboy Neguin started breaking when he was 12 years old in 2000 after one of his friends gave him a tape of Bboy Summit. Before he started breaking, he had already been doing capoeira and Brazilian jiu-jitsu (in which he has a brown belt now) for almost 10 years and wanted to do something where he didn’t have to forget his own culture, that is why he mixes capoeira with breaking. So, when he found out about breaking, he moved to Sao Paulo and joined Tsunami All-Stars. Later, he moved to New York to learn about the culture of hip-hop. For him, it was not just about breaking, but he wanted to know the whole culture of hip-hop including graffiti, emceeing, and DJing.

He ended up getting a tour with Madonna when she saw some of his clips and then went to a party called ‘Funk Box’ where Neguin was, to see him but she did not talk to him at the party and asked his friend “Norman” who was working with Madonna at the time to bring him in. Additionally, before this gig, he was struggling to get a work visa to stay in America but when Madonna hired him, she paid for his visa which was around $100,000, through that he also applied for a Green Card.

He doesn’t label himself to any profession and thinks of himself as a chameleon, who changes his colour according to the environment he is in as he gets inspiration from everything around him. Moreover, he doesn’t drink or smoke, also tries to eat a vegan-friendly diet, and tries not to get injured by changing his ways and mentality if he feels an injury incoming. That is his way of respecting his body.

Until now, he has travelled around 146 countries and his favorite place is Indonesia with New York being the most special place for him. Moreover, after leaving Jiu-Jitsu for some time, he started pursuing it again some years ago and has since achieved a brown belt in it. He is now aiming for a purple belt.

He was given the name ‘Neguin’ by his capoeira teacher which stands for mixture of elements and was given the name ‘Neguinism’ to his artistic pursuits. Inspired by nature, incorporates his dance. He is also a coach, mentor, DJ and a capoeira teacher.

Moves:

– He is known for his signature flip and tricks combos.
– He has high energy aerial moves.
– He does his breaking moves with blitzing speed and power moves with a diverse arsenal and variations.
– He has his own private and rhythmic touch to his movements.

Training Mindset & Advice:

Bboy Neguin trains his mental and emotional being along with his physical self. He considers breaking as a conversation and training your mind for that conversation helps him in the battle. He never tries to do something in which he doesn’t have expertise because of the mindset that you have to respect your body. He thinks like a martial artist which helps him understand his body function which provides him with calculating and controlling his moves. He prefers to take time and practice the moves with the right techniques to make the move comfortable. He rebuilds the trust in his ability by going slowly and in a comfortable environment.

He advises to get rid of fear and trauma caused by injuries and to breathe during breaks so as to not get tired early. He advises people to learn the culture of hip-hop to get the comprehension of themselves and how they belong to this culture.
