Plash is a prominent figure in the Cracow music scene. A multifaceted artist, he is a digger, producer, turntablist, and bboy who has been deeply involved in Polish hip-hop culture for many years. He has showcased his talent in both Polish and international battles, including Freestyle Session, Circle Prinz, Red Bull BC One, and Skill Master, among many others. His sets deliver a robust mix of original breaks, funk, soul, hip-hop, and various other music genres.
His journey began in 1995-1996 with graffiti, followed by breaking in 1997. Inspired by watching DJs perform, his passion for DJing was sparked, leading him to start spinning records at the age of 16 in 1999. Without a formal teacher, he learned by watching VHS tapes, recording clips, and observing DJs at parties. He credits his development to the great DJs of Krakow, such as Krime and D.M.C., and the vibrant party scene organized by Zooteka.
For the past 24 years, DJ Plash has represented Cracow’s bboying community on the dance floor. His journey with turntables began around 14 years ago and continues to this day. Over the years, he has participated in hundreds of concerts, parties, and events, collaborating with groups such as Wzgórze Ya Pa 3, Stylowa Spółka Społem, Wu-Hae, and Wojtas. Currently, he plays in the live band FLUE. He has also supported renowned artists like Pharcyde, De La Soul, Dilated Peoples, Afu-Ra, IAM, DMX, Ugly Duckling, Mos Def, Hocus-Pocus, Scratch Perverts, DJ Kentaro, and Korn.
He derived his DJ name from a combination of his surname and an alias given to him by his graffiti artist friends, “Plashek.” He proudly identifies as “straight outta Nowa Huta” in Kraków. Despite his travels, he always returns to the streets of Nowa Huta.
