Bboy Phil Wizard Biography, Life Story, Breaking Journey, and Facts:
Phil’s family hails from South Korea but was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. He currently lives in Vancouver, Canada. He became interested in breaking after seeing the street performance of N.O.N in downtown Vancouver at the age of 12. He was taught by N.O.N first and then from Soul Felons, B-Boys JBugz and Reflex. Phil was inspired by B-Boy Wing, B-Boy Issei, B-Boy Hong 10, and B-Boy Victor. Phil thinks that apart from B-Boy Menno and B-Boy Lil Zoo, B-Boy Kazuki Roc is the worst person for him to battle. His original stage name was ‘Phil from the Wizards crew’ and he was a psychology major for a year before dropping out to become a full time B-Boy.
He has performed in multiple locations including Europe, Africa, North America, Asia, and the UK. He is the first Canadian Bboy to get an invitation to Red Bull BC One World Finals. Phil considers his consistency is the main reason for his accomplishments. Bboy Phil Wizard regarded his Red Bull BC One performance to be the worst performance ever. Phil did dance gigs to pay off his rent during the pandemic and ran mentorship programmes through Zoom to earn money. Phil is set to make his Olympic debut in 2024 with 3750 points and 1st on ranking in the Olympic Qualifier list.

He trains 5-6 times a week and 2-4 hours in morning which includes calisthenics and drill sessions. He uploads his workout regime on his patreon to keep the track of his training and tends to have fun on stage and try to put less pressure on himself. He thinks it’s amazing to have this kind of attitude and perspective shift where he doesn’t care if he loses because he enjoys the stage and has fun. (Stance)
