Pan American Games Breaking 2023 (Santiago)

Breaking competition at Pan American Games 2023 (Santiago) will showcase 16 b-boys and 16 b-girls participating in 1vs1 battles. The victors in each category will secure direct qualification for the Olympic Games in Paris the following year.

Pan American Games Breaking Schedule

The Breaking competitions at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile are set to take place from November 4 to 5, 2023, at the Chimkowe Gym in Peñalolén, a suburb of Santiago. This event marks the sport’s debut at the Pan American Games.

Breaking was added to the sports program as the 39th sport on June 24, 2022, serving as a qualifier for its Olympic debut at Paris 2024. Two events are scheduled, one for men and one for women, with a total of 32 athletes participating (16 per gender).

The host nation is guaranteed one spot in each event, and the other 15 spots will be awarded through the 2023 Pan American Championships and the World Rankings list. Each country can qualify a maximum of four athletes, two from each gender.
